MONTH ONE: Understanding Fibromyalgia

During the first month, we’ll discuss the unique aspects of Fibromyalgia (*and similar conditions)

Knowledge is power, we will build a foundation on the most updated information on Fibromyalgia, becoming informed and inspired to impact the lives of those who live with this mysterious syndrome.

 

MONTH TWO: Treating People with Fibromyalgia* through 1:1 Yoga Therapy

During month two, we will help you specify what it is that makes yoga therapy a unique approach to helping people with fibromyalgia. We will discuss and experience yoga therapy methods and techniques and best practices to advance your skill set when using 1:1 applications of yoga therapy for people with fibromyalgia* to address their specific needs.

This advanced Mentorship in Pain Care will continue by being guided to compassionately meeting your individual clients/patients with fibromyalgia right where they are at - and moving them toward building smart goals, increasing their resilience and capacity for managing stress and fatigue.  We will discuss sleep hygiene, making healthy lifestyle choices through every aspect of their human-ness, and best practices for processing and moving their body mind and spirit through to the other side of the feelings of overwhelm, shame, guilt, fear, indecisiveness or indifference.

 

MONTH THREE: Treating People with Fibromyalgia* through Group Yoga Therapy

In our final month together in this Advance Pain Care Mentorship, you will be guided in developing a series of group yoga therapy sessions for people with fibromyalgia*. You will create a group YTh intake for this population and be guided in designing lesson plans with curriculum addressing best practices for people with fibromyalgia* over a series of 6 group YTh sessions. You will also be mentored in sharing digestible and important teaching points of pain neuro science education and applicable teachings of yoga philosophy from the yamas and niyamas through each of your 6 group sessions. We will discuss the unique aspects of holding safe space for this group as well as best practices for building safe and sacred community, group sharing processes and journaling prompts that support your session themes.
